Loci ("the app") is a personal footprint mapping app. By using Loci, you agree to the following terms. Last updated: May 30, 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Loci, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Loci records your location footprint, visualizes it on a map, and provides trip tracking, statistics, and AI-powered summaries. The app is designed with a local-first approach — your data is stored on your device and under your control.

3. Loci Premium Subscription

Loci offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as full trip history, deep insights, and AI-enhanced memory summaries.

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you generate and export.
• You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• You understand that location tracking requires device permissions and may affect battery life.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code in Loci are the property of the developer. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

6. AI Features & Third-Party AI Services

The app offers AI-powered narrative and search features. AI mode is selected by you in Me → AI Settings: "Off" (templates only), "On-device" (Apple Intelligence, no data leaves your device), or "Cloud" (a third-party OpenAI-compatible endpoint that you configure with your own API key).

• Cloud mode is strictly opt-in. The third-party endpoint is selected, configured, and authorized solely by you, and operates under its own terms and privacy policy.
• The app does not host any AI service, does not relay your data through any proprietary server, and does not bill or broker third-party providers on your behalf.
• You are responsible for reviewing the third-party provider's policies, for any fees or quotas the provider may charge, and for the lawful use of any keys you configure.
• AI-generated text is provided for reference only. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and should not be relied upon for navigation, legal, medical, financial, or other consequential decisions.

7. Disclaimer

Loci is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of location data, trip detection, or AI-generated content. Use the app at your own discretion.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, nor for any damages, charges, or losses arising from your use of a third-party AI service you configure in Cloud mode.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
